Hello 2016!

Ohh don't you just love a shiny new year, so many possibilities ahead!

So what can you expect from Hello Harriet in 2016? Well, I'm upping my product game this year! Expect to see lots of new additions and more seasonal items making their way to the virtual shelves. I've got tons of cute things planned which I'll share with you soon.
You'll also find a bunch of free stuff ... I really enjoyed making those free downloads for my mini advent series and want to do more because, FUN.
Behind the scenes I'll be hunting down new stockists and wholesale contacts, and prepping for my first trade show {eak!} so maybe you'll find HH in a real life store near you! I have some collaborations planned and am generally aiming to be more organised ... hello monthly book-keeping! We're also relocating to Bath, which I'm *super* excited about! Basically, I'm looking forward to all of it and I hope you'll keep popping back to see what I've been up to!

I'd really love to know if there's something you've been pining for from HH that you'd love to see this year ... whether that be new products, blog posts, burning questions you need answered! Be sure to let me know so I can add them to my to do list!

I'm super excited to get work on a bunch of new products, and with that in mind there's a sale going on in the HH shop right now to help make way for fun new things!

Wowee! only a few days to go you guys ... I hope you're as excited as I am! I'm taking the next few days off to relax and eat my weight in mince pies whilst I wrap the last of my gifts - if you're planning on doing the same you'll like today's offering for the HH 12 days of Christmas!

I love wrapping gifts, and always make an effort to make them look extra special ~ any excuse to use a pom pom, right! So this year I thought it would be fun to make some cute little festive gift tags, and because I'm nice I wanted to share them with you too! Simply download the A5 file, print and cut around each tag.

I hope you enjoy adorning your carefully wrapped prezzies with little grumpy pugs, cheerful bunnies and scrumptious cats! I'd love to know which is your favourite, and to see how you used them!

On the eighth day of Christmas HH gave to me ...
pins.jpg

ONE WEEK TO GO! Just think this time next week you'll be opening all your presents! Do you like to open them all in one go first thing in the morning or drag it out through the day? That's the only thing us at HH HQ can't agree on, so I think we should put it to a vote!

One thing that isn't up for discussion is that stockings should be opened immediately, as soon as you wake up {at 4am} and any chocolate or sweets found inside must be eaten for breakfast, though the satsumas are optional.

These little shiny kitty pins make for lovely stocking fillers, and instantly make any outfit a whole lot more fancy, coz everyone likes to get dressed up for Christmas, right?

For today only all pins are just £5 each!

On the seventh day of Christmas HH gave to me ...

The cut off point for Christmas deliveries is edging ever closer! Today is your last day to place an order for phone cases to arrive in time for Christmas {UK ONLY, sorry folks!} These little guys have been super popular lately. Their new packaging looks rather fancy making them perfect for gifting, there are a bunch of new designs available too!

For today only use the code TECH415 to get your cases for £15 each!

And don't forget you can still download my festive wallpapers throughout December to get your tech in the Christmas spirit!

On the sixth day of Christmas HH gave to me ...

I'm totes getting unbearably excited for Christmas now, are you? You may have spotted some HH totes are sold out at the moment as you've all been going mad for these helpful little guys recently, but I have some great news, they'll be back in stock this week just in time for Christmas delivery! They're gift that keeps on giving ... well, if you fill them with more gifts that is! No code needed today, just pop on over to the shop and bag yourself one, or two!

For today only all totes are just £8

On the fifth day of Christmas HH gave to me ...

We're over half way to Christmas guys, can you believe it?! With only 10 days to go I'm well and truly in the festive mood! We've finally got our tree up and I've been finding any excuse to enjoy a mince pie on an almost daily basis, plus my new holiday stickers arrived last week which have been making all your orders look a lot more jolly!

This has been my busiest year of Christmas markets {four in total, plus 2 pop ups!} the final two were last weekend with Crafty Fox in Peckham and the Koumis & Kettle Pop Up in Winchester. Now they're out of the way I can focus on packing all your lovely orders, and consider how to tackle the catastrophe that is my studio! {I don't understand how it can get *so* unbelievably messy!}

There's really not long left for you to get yourselves some HH goodies in time for gifting this Christmas, so keep checking back for lots of lovely offers this week and a few lovely treats next week too in the HH Christmas Countdown! For today's Day 5 of my mini advent, I'm offering 50% OFF ALL TATTOOS for today only! Just pop in this code at the checkout :

XMASTATT

They're super stocking fillers or secret santa gifts, and they're fun for kids and grown ups, guys or girls - you basically can't go wrong!

An alternative use for christmas cards

I wanted to share with you all something I do with Christmas cards, you know the really nice ones from independent sellers? Yeah those ones. Well, I buy them FOR MYSELF. Yep, when I see beautifully designed, super cute or funny Christmas cards I buy them with absolutely no intention of sending them to my loved ones. Don’t judge me. And before you ask, no, I don’t write festive messages to myself or pretend they’re from a wealth of generous friends with excellent taste. I buy these cards because I have a special use for them.

It’s become a tradition of mine to treat myself to one or two cards from my favourite makers as a way of marking the start of Christmas, and it pleases me greatly when someone sends me a thoughtful card that I can add to my collection, as I know how important these small purchases are to fellow creatives.

And what do I do with my little collection, I hear you cry! You’ll find them on my walls and dotted around my home as seasonal artwork!
They look super cute paired with paper chains, or arranged as mini galleries washi-taped to the wall ... and are MUCH nicer than tinsel.

Clockwise from top : Charlotte Farmer, Victoria Whincup & Katey Jean

They're great for bringing some festive feels into the house, and are usually the first bits I dig out at the start of December as we don't always have time to get our tree straight away. This year I've hung them with gold clips and teamed with foliage and handmade decorations, and let's all take a moment to appreciate our super simple advent calendar! I picked up those sweet little pegs from Tiger, they're perfect for holding chocolate coins or mini gifts along a string.

I know a lot of people make the judgment that Christmas cards from independent sellers are ‘expensive’ {and I suppose compared to the pack of 150 you can pick up for £1 at the supermarket, they are} but to me they are much more than just a card; they're the hours of hard work, failures and experimentation, the maker's skill and determination and the moment it all came together! If you view them as miniature artworks then you'll see you're getting a real bargain, especially if you buy them for yourself as you get to enjoy them year after year ... that's why I love to fill my walls with festive art over Christmas.

And just in case you were wanting to join in with my tradition here are a few Christmas cards I'm loving right now. Clockwise from top left : Annie Pancake, Hello Harriet, Junk & GlitterNikki Miles, Dick Vincent, Oh No Rachio, Fiona Purves & centre : Stacie Swift
